WORKING AT ARGO SYSTEMS
Our Core Values of “Unity, Customer-Centric, Balance, and Achievement” reflect our overall philosophy. We talk to our customers every day, determine their needs and make sure we fulfill them. Argo provides products and services that assure our clients that they are important and central to what we do. But then we play silly games like “ruler ball” and “monkey pot”. We have a strange obsession for NERF. Everyone at Argo works extremely hard, but co-workers are there for you when you need help.
Argo Our hiring philosophy and core values require us to search for a few very special people. It’s a given we’re looking for extremely smart people – the work we do requires it. However, even more important is a certain empathy we strive to find – we look for people who genuinely care about helping each other succeed. You spend more engaged time with your co-workers than you do anyone else. Wouldn’t it be nice to spend that time with people you like and respect?
OUR EMPLOYEES LOVE IT HERE....
Argo provides its employees with the tools they need to get their jobs done. And, I'm not micromanaged! I could not be happier with my choice to work for Argo Systems.
Lisa Longley - Director, Support and Training

Individual successes are celebrated by peers, managers and executives alike. With that kind of support, the work I do is exciting and motivating.
Ricky Wallace – Solution Architect

Drew Kurtz – Business Analyst, Professional Services

I wouldn’t want to leave here even if I was offered three times the pay, because I always enjoy coming into work at Argo, while all of my friends are complaining about their jobs.
Mike Gurley – Software Engineer
With Argo Since May 2006
I’ve been with Argo for 8 years and wouldn’t trade my job for any other in the world! You hear a lot about teamwork and “open door” policies at just about every company, but Argo is one of a few that truly lives up to it. I love that I’m not just a cog in a vast network of cubicles – I have a voice and I know our leaders are listening when I suggest ways to make the software or the company itself better. I get to do all that AND play with Nerf toys – what more could an employee want?!
Bonnie Isaac - Director, Products
With Argo Since January 2000
Great work environment that is full of awesome people.
Mark Sponsler - Software Engineer

X years with Argo Working in Buckhead is great. There are tons of great places to eat, parking is provided and free, and it’s convenient to a wide range of shops if you need to run errands on a lunch break.
Matt Bell - Manager Research and Development
With Argo Since November 1998
Boxy Brown and beer run Fridays!
Nick Smith - Software Engineer
With Argo Since November 2007
We take a work-hard-play-hard approach. We might be having a Nerf Gun war on Friday afternoon, but not before we finish a custom project for a client. Even though making cable-industry software sounds stodgy, this isn't your grandfather's corporate desk job!
Christin Clatterbuck - Client Services Analyst

Catalytic Coaching – The End of the Performance Review
The traditional employee review process used by 98% of companies is often ineffective and useless. Employee reviews do nothing to help employees grow and be the best they can be. Most companies use a derivation of the employee review process developed by Xerox back in the ‘50s. Each year employees sits with their managers or HR managers and get told areas where they are strong and areas that need improvement. They get their x% cost of living raises and then wait for next years’ review.
Argo Systems uses a revolutionary approach to developing great employees called Catalytic Coaching. It starts with the employees, not their managers. The employees document the accomplishments they’re most proud of, areas they wished they’d done better, and things they’d like to do in the future. The managers then review these items and put together “growth” items and schedules for the employees. Each month throughout the year, managers and employees, work together to execute the plans for the employees’ career growth. What ends up happening? The employees understand what they need to do and have a plan to become the best that they can be. It is a forward-thinking approach rather than the traditional look in the rearview mirror.
Rather than just paying lip service to developing great employees, Argo measures how well our employees are engaged in their jobs through periodic engagement surveys. Gallop spent 25 years interviewing millions (yes, millions) of managers and their employees to try to measure what makes a great manager. In the end they boiled their research down to 12 questions that can tell companies how well their managers are doing. Samples include: “Do I have the materials to do my work right”, “Does my supervisor, or someone at work, seem to care about me as a person”, and “Are my co-workers committed to doing quality work”. These anonymous surveys tell managers and upper management at Argo how well we are doing at engaging our people. It can be humbling, but tells us what we are doing well and should continue doing, as well as where we are faltering and the changes that need to be made. Once again, the overall goal is to encourage and help develop our employees to becoming the best team members that they can be. As our people continue to get better, our company continues to get stronger.
